Account users and fleet users
Who can see and change what in the customer portal, and how to give people at your company access.
Updated
Fix My Truck accounts can be a single business, or an account with several fleets under it (for example a fleet per depot, region or contract). Each person who uses the customer portal belongs either to the account or to one fleet.
What each can do
| Account user | Fleet user | |
|---|---|---|
| Jobs | The account’s own jobs and every fleet’s | Their fleet’s jobs only |
| Vehicles, drivers, depot contacts, saved places | The account’s and every fleet’s; picks the fleet of each record and can move vehicles between fleets | Their fleet’s only |
| Requesting help | For any fleet of the account | For their fleet |
| Invoices | The account’s invoices | The invoices that bill their fleet’s jobs |
| Statement | The account’s statement | Fleets are billed through their account: the account’s administrator has the full statement |
A fleet user cannot see another fleet’s records or put a record on another fleet.
Getting access for your people
Portal access is set up by our team, so we know who is acting for your company:
- Tell us the person’s name and email address, and whether they belong to the account or to a fleet.
- They receive an invitation email with a link to set their password.
- On their first sign-in they may be asked to set up two-step verification. See Signing in and two-step verification.
To remove someone’s access, for example when they leave, contact us and we will turn their portal access off.
Whose notifications are they?
Progress emails go to the portal users of the account or fleet the job belongs to, plus any extra addresses in your notification settings. See Tracking a job and progress notifications.
